Company Description
Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of about 650 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that trains personnel in Swedish nuclear power, delivers nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments, and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as developing and providing training, project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety assignments, and dam safety assignments. The focus within the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected technical key disciplines. We actively work with continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.
About the Role
Are you willing to take the step towards fossil-free energy? Then we should talk.
We are looking for ambitious individuals to join our diverse, talented team. If you value collaboration and enjoy responsibility, we offer you a place to grow while working purposefully.
As an engineer with us, you will work on a variety of issues with varying complexity. We are in an exciting time as we prepare for new nuclear power while also upgrading our existing facilities to operate for many years to come. Furthermore, we are also strengthening our ability to work with renewal and exchanges within hydropower. This means you will be involved in finding innovative solutions that enable the integration of modern technology with existing systems – solutions that meet today’s high demands and ensure high availability of our facilities.
As an electrical designer with us, you will largely work on assignments for our clients, but assignments in our own organization where you perform your work as part of one of our design teams may also be relevant.
You will participate in new, renovation, and expansion projects with tasks within electrical design at a detailed level, which includes everything from large electrical power components to digital systems. Furthermore, you may contribute to the development of documentation for decision-making and procurement and assist with your expertise in dialogues with both internal and external parties.
With us, you will have the opportunity to work with the energy technology of the future in projects that make a real difference. You will collaborate with competent colleagues across several disciplines and build a strong network. Additionally, we offer great opportunities for professional and personal development through training, mentorship, and career paths within Vattenfall.
We know that our employees are the key to our success. For us, your development is important, and therefore we will always encourage you to use your skills and provide you with opportunities to develop through new challenges, training, and knowledge transfer. With us, you will have the trust to act with great freedom and responsibility, which, together with good working conditions and mutual trust, provides high flexibility and balance between work and private life.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree as a university engineer, vocational engineer, or similar in a relevant field, or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way.
- Several years of experience in design within the process or power industry.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, both in Swedish and English.
- Driving license B.
We are looking for someone who thrives in an independent and responsible role where your adaptability and routine approach contribute to a safe and stable work environment. You are structured, meticulous, and quality-conscious in your work and enjoy handling many contacts. You have good collaboration skills and, with your attentiveness, find it easy to create and maintain relationships. Once you have established yourself in your new role, we highly value a willingness and ability to act as a mentor for more junior colleagues.
Additional Information
In addition to being part of shaping the future's smart energy society, we offer you a developing and varied job with many contact points. For us at Vattenfall, it is important to have a good balance between work and private life, which is why we offer flexibility in work and the possibility to work from home when needed. We also have several other employee benefits such as reduced working hours, favorable pension agreements, parental leave supplements, and more. Read more about our benefits here.
